Imperial Valley LGBT Resource Center's

​​​About Our Partner: Imperial Valley Pride 2024

Imperial Valley Pride is celebrated on the 2nd Saturday of October to commemorate the grand opening of the Imperial Valley LGBT Resource Center. The first Pride event occurred in 2015, bringing together approximately 400 people. It was hosted in the parking lot of the center and included music, drag queen performances, food vendors, and participation from various agencies. 

DAY OF EVENT

  • Volunteer Needs: Volunteers will assist in VwC Outreach, sharing our mission and vision, and sharing personal volunteer stories to engage potential new volunteers to register.

  • Shift Date: Saturday, October 12, 2024

  • Shift Times: 4:00pm - 9:00pm

  • Location: Bucklin Park, El Centro, CA (It will be HOT)

  • Dress Code: Fun and Pride wear, sunscreen, hat, shades, close-toe shoes.

​​About Our Partner: Crisis House

Crisis House provides humanitarian services to those in crisis in East San Diego County. The individuals we support struggle to overcome complex and challenging circumstances, including homelessness, domestic violence, addiction, health conditions, and lack of access to food and housing.

Crisis House responds immediately to connect people to services that can help resolve life-endangering situations so they can renew their lives.

DAY OF EVENT

  • Volunteer Needs: Volunteer will assist with 2 Security Volunteers and 4 Volunteers for Live Auction Flaggers/Recorders

  • Shift Date: Friday, October 11, 2024

  • Shift Times: 6:00 pm - 10:00pm

  • Location: Tom Ham's Restaurant

  • Dress Code: Business Casual

  • Volunteer Needs: Volunteers will assist with setting up, decorations, guest registration and breakdown

  • Shift Date: Friday, October 4, 2024

  • Shift #1: 3:30 pm - 7:30pm - Set-up and guest registration

  • Shift #2: 7:30pm - 10:30pm - Clean-up and breakdown

  • Location: The Soap Factory (2995 Commercial Street, SD 92113

  • Dress Code: All black or spooky Halloween costume

To effectively prevent and treat child abuse, Home Start addresses the conditions that can contribute to risky or abusive situations – poverty, unsafe neighborhoods, lack of affordable housing, and unemployment – while concurrently addressing individual self-sufficiency and emotional needs.

  • Volunteer Needs: Volunteers will assist with guest check-in, silent auction and other duties
